Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS)
LT SERIES – 700 VA to 2.1 kVA
GENERAL
The LT Series Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) is a single phase, continuous duty on line, single conversion UPS. It is designed to supply reliable, clean, regulated power for critical loads. An efficient ferroresonant transformer, microprocessor controlled, solid state PWM inverter and long lasting battery pack provide immunity to all line disturbances and power interruptions with no break in AC output power. The synchronous inverter produces a true uninterruptible output in any mode of operation. A self-diagnostic monitoring alarm systems keeps operators continuously advised of the system status.
CONSERVATIVE RATING
The LT Series is conservatively rated for non-linear loads with crest factors as high as 3.5 and power factors of 0.6. There is no need to over size for kVA requirements.
K-FACTOR
K-Factor rating of 30 or better. In addition, odd harmonic currents, which are generated by today’s typical switch mode power supplies, are attenuated by the UPS. This prevents overheating of building and wiring transformers.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTIVE CONTROL
Soft utility and engine generators produce severe input voltage distortions that cause many UPS detection circuits to misjudge real power fluctuations. The LT Series eliminated this problem by capturing the input voltage waveform and using artificial intelligence to make detection decisions.
OPERATION
Under normal operation conditions, the critical load is supported through an on-line ferroresonant power purifier. The ferroresonant power purifier corrects for every power line disturbance except long term power outage. Also during normal operating conditions, a precision battery charger maintains a ripple free float charge on the batteries keeping them fully charges and ready. Upon failure of commercial AC power, DC battery power is converter to AC by a microprocessor controlled PWM inverter and further filtered through the on-line ferroresonant power purifier for the load. With this technology we are able to attain isolated, regulated, conditioned, uninterrupted output power with no break in output power during failure or restoration of commercial AC power. System reliability (MTBF) is proven to be in excess of 200,000 hours for the ferroresonant power purifier and 100,000 hours for the total system including batteries.

REALTIME UPS MONITORING
Realtime UPS monitoring is one of the industries most advanced tools for managing UPS operations. Operators can easily analyze vast amounts of important UPS and electrical utility line data. The UPS incorporates a multitasking microprocessor that controls the operation, processes data and makes the information available in an ASCII format through RS232 protocol at the UPS J1 communications port. The UPS can be programmed by the user for optimum performance and compatibility with actual site operating conditions.
